Everything you need to know about Kompass. Can't find the answer you're looking for?
Kompass is a cloud-based platform which facilitates the key components of goal setting. From assessment with the WHO's ICF, through to gold-standard GAS goal setting and SMART objectives, it serves as an online platform to simplify and improve service’s current rehabilitative goal setting processes. It provides individuals and services the ability to consistently set goals in a meaningful and efficient manner following best practice guidelines outlined within rehabilitation literature.
Goal setting can be really time-consuming and complex. Literature states that best-practice goal setting involves completing a functional assessment, identifying and prioritising functional problems from that assessment, setting goals based on Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS), setting SMART objectives towards achieving those goals, and creating regular summary reports of all of that data.
Research that we conducted presented that on average, 70.5 hours were dedicated to these processes over a period of 6 months for one client. For many of us, this is unrealistic, impractical and often impossible.
By streamlining these gold-standard processes into one platform, time spent on goal setting was found to reduce by 43% without compromising on best-practice. This leaves more time for the clinical, therapeutic work helping your clients move towards their goals, by removing time spent on administrative, paperwork based tasks. Moreover, through the integration of these processes into one platform, all rehabilitation data is automatically organised, preventing lost or mislaid information, which can be very costly.
Kompass can be used with any patients engaged within rehabilitation, regardless of what that rehabilitation is. Some common conditions it is used with are: brain injury, stroke, cardiac conditions, respiratory conditions, mental illness, and persistent pain.
This is because of the wide-ranging nature of the ICF assessment used, with various different core sets, covering many conditions. For more information on the ICF please click here.
